Laser Treatments for Vein Care
Cosmetic laser treatments are indicated when the vessels are too small to be injected or patients are resistant to injection sclerotherapy. Careful consideration has to be given in regards to possible pigmentation changes. The areas treated by laser are much smaller than by injection. The need for repeat treatment is usually more frequent.
Different lasers and intense pulse light (IPL) machines are available on the market for these treatments.
The principal of the laser use is based on the dispersion of heat in the blood vessel that ultimately irritates and destroys the vessel making it collapse and eventually reabsorbing into the surrounding collagen tissue.
Not everybody is a candidate for laser treatments whether they are for cosmetic or non-cosmetic purposes. If you are a candidate this will be assessed during the initial evalutation.
